I recently picked up the hobby of baking after completing my thesis. Previously, my baking experiences was mostly limited to Betty Crocker instant cookie/brownie mixes, which tasted quite good in fact still. So good, that when i first started baking from "scratch", people commented they preferred my cookie/brownie mixes.
But i believe i have since improved... Haha, the bad cooking lies in the bad recipes, and not me! I use good recipes now, so i have good cakes! Shameless...
I'm actually considering baking less often nowadays. Cos baking can be bad for the waistline (i keep sampling too many things everytime a batch comes out of the oven), and it's rather expensive (you'd be amazed how much certain ingredients costs, and how fast i use them...), and sometimes my baking goes unappreciated. But still, it gives me great joy when i managed to baking something nice tasting, and to share it with friends and family. :)
Small talk aside, presenting some of my recent creations...
This is the
Coffee-flavoured shortcakes (which lacked the coffee taste), and looked like fried tofu squares according to Mr david.

Sour cream cake studded with milk chocolate bits &
marbled cheesecake brownie.
I wasn't very successful at marbling my brownie. The more i tried to marble the white coloured cheesecake with my chocolate brownie, the worse it became, and it ended up with one big light brown mess. :( As you can see from the photo of my brownie...
My sour cream cake (with no sour cream taste)! With milk chocolate blocks. I was too cheapo to buy chocolate chips (they cost almost $7 a bag!!!) So i bought bars of cadbury and manually chopped them up into tiny bits. Might have overdosed on the sugar, as you can see it sprinkled all over the top of the cake.
This was baked a few weeks ago. There were initially supposed to be
homemade oreo cookies. I was supposed to use a large egg for the recipe, but i thought my eggs were too small, so i used 2 eggs, which was too much, and my batter ended up in a liquid mess. :( Haha, but i managed to bake it still. Got lazy to make the oreo filling, so i made marshmellow fillings for the cookies instead.

I went shopping with my sister yesterday. :) River island sale!!! Aldo sale!!! The black shoes i'd been eyeing for ages were on sale, and they had my size. *bimbo dance*
This is my meimei eating her healthy soup lunch at soup spoon. Haha meatless minestrone. We are going shopping again today again. :)

I went clubbing at night after that. Actually was quite tired and cranky from the long week at work, and from shopping. But since i kinda promised i'd go so i went. Went MOS first, but my friends thought music was bad, so hopped to dblO. Hmmm... I think i'm too old. Clubbing ain't my thing anymore...
My cranky face, while sitting on the chair in the retro room at MOS. Haha. I should give the cranky face more often, as it makes my nose look nice! I didn't know my nose bridge was so straight and high. ^__^
